Men of the Cloth

Men-of-Cloth-12 We’re excited to announce that Andrew Davis Clothiers is an official sponsor of this year’s Middle Coast Film Festival, Bloomington’s very first interactive film festival. The festival will take place August 13-15 at various downtown locations including the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, Ivy Tech Waldron Arts and The Backdoor’s screening room.

Andrew Davis Clothiers will also be a title sponsor for the Middle Coast Official Selection of Men of the Cloth, a documentary that explores master tailors who dedicated their entire lives to constructing custom-made suits for clients in New York City and are coming to terms with the reality of retirement and the fear that their Old World knowledge will vanish with them.

“One of my good friends in the clothing business called me after watching Men of the Cloth to tell me it was a must-see for everyone who loves clothing, art, Italy, and great film making,” said Andy Mallor, owner. “That it is—it's a must-see and we are proud to sponsor Men of the Cloth and the Middle Coast Film Festival.”

As experts in men's fashion, sponsoring the film was an easy decision for us. We’re excited that IU Apparel Merchandising & Interior Design professor Kathleen Rowold will be sitting on the discussion panel and offering a local perspective right alongside NYC filmmaker Vicki Vasilopoulos.

Kathleen Rowold is a published writer and professor in the Fashion Design & Culture group, curator of the Sage Collection. She is among the world’s leading experts in the social and aesthetic history of Western fashion, and we are honored by her participation in a post-film discussion.

Men of the Cloth will premier on Saturday, August 15 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater at 2:15 p.m. followed by a Q&A session with Andrew, Kathleen and Vicki. Weekend and day passes to Middle Coast Fest can be purchased online here.
